Erato Alakiozidou is a Greek pianist, artistic researcher and curator whose work moves between concert performance, interdisciplinary artistic creation and international collaborations. Her artistic practice brings together performance, research and cultural initiatives, exploring music as a space for dialogue, memory and shared experience.

Education & Artistic Formation
Erato Alakiozidou received her musical education in Greece before continuing her studies in Belgium, Germany and Switzerland with distinguished pianists and pedagogues, including Nikos Astrinidis, Julia and Constantin Ganev and Roberto Szidon.
These diverse artistic influences shaped a musical identity that combines the depth of the European pianistic tradition with a strong interest in contemporary repertoire, chamber music and interdisciplinary artistic practice. Her artistic development has always been driven by curiosity, openness and continuous exploration
​Performance & International Career
For more than three decades, Erato Alakiozidou has performed extensively as a soloist and chamber musician throughout Europe. Her concerts have taken place in major concert halls, festivals, universities and cultural institutions across Greece, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, France, the United Kingdom, Poland, Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Cyprus and the Netherlands.
Her repertoire spans from the classical and romantic tradition to contemporary music, with particular emphasis on twentieth- and twenty-first-century composers. Alongside her recital activity, she regularly collaborates with distinguished instrumentalists, singers, ensembles and orchestras, creating performances that combine artistic excellence with thoughtful programming.
​Contemporary Music & Premieres
​​Contemporary music occupies a central place in Erato Alakiozidou's artistic activity. Throughout her career she has championed the music of Greek and international composers through concerts, recordings and numerous world premieres.
Many composers have entrusted her with first performances and dedicated new works to her, recognising her commitment to expanding the contemporary piano repertoire and bringing new music to wider audiences. Her performances seek to reveal contemporary music not as a specialised genre, but as a living artistic language in dialogue with today's world.
 ARTISTIC RESEARCH
Alongside her concert career, Erato Alakiozidou develops artistic research exploring the relationship between music, memory, identity and place.
She is currently a PhD Candidate in Artistic Creation at the University of Aveiro (Portugal), where she investigates artistic creation as a process of reconstructing shared identities through collaborative artistic practice. Combining music, visual media, text and performance, her research explores how artistic experiences can foster dialogue, participation and new forms of collective understanding.
Projects such as My Terra embody this ongoing exploration, bringing together artistic practice, research and interdisciplinary creation.
 ​Artistic Leadership
​Beyond the concert stage, Erato Alakiozidou is actively engaged in artistic direction, cultural management and international project development.
She is the founder and Artistic Director of the Music Diaries International Workshop Festival, an international platform bringing together young musicians, distinguished artists and audiences through masterclasses, concerts and collaborative artistic experiences.
She also develops and curates interdisciplinary productions, educational programmes and international cultural partnerships, creating opportunities for artistic exchange across Europe.
​Teaching & Mentorship
​​Teaching has been a central part of Erato Alakiozidou's artistic career for many years. She has taught at numerous conservatories and music institutions in Greece, mentoring young musicians in piano, chamber music and collaborative performance.
She has been a permanent faculty member of the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki since 2006, where she serves as Head of the Piano Accompaniment Department, International Relations Coordinator, and works as a Collaborative Pianist, while also teaching Piano and Chamber Music.
She is also a collaborator at the Athens Conservatoire, contributing to its educational and artistic activities.
Since 2020, she has served as Artistic Director of the Municipal Conservatory of Pylaia–Chortiatis, leading its artistic vision, educational strategy and international collaborations, while developing concert series, festivals and innovative educational initiatives.
Alongside her institutional appointments, she is regularly invited to present masterclasses, lectures and educational workshops, and to serve on juries of national and international competitions, contributing to the education and professional development of young musicians.

Her artistic activity has been distinguished by long-standing collaborations with composers, performers, universities, festivals and cultural institutions, reflecting a career dedicated to artistic excellence, innovation and international cultural dialogue.
